Why should I invest in a private session? Isn’t it just a group class taught to one person?

Private sessions are all about YOU! Imagine a class that is 100% customized to your unique body and needs, without the distractions of other students or sequences that aren’t suited to you.

You’re paying to get out of the class exactly what you need for that particular day. It’s very different from personal training in that you aren’t paying the private yoga teacher to push you to your limits.

You are paying to help access your inner strength and balance through yoga poses but also through breathing, stress-relief and connection to your higher self, which will in turn help you to balance the other aspects of your life.

Where do the yoga lessons take place?

The iHART Home is located in Wappingers Falls NY in the Hudson Valley.

Sessions take place at the iHART Home private studio in a woodsy residential area, overlooking a sunny backyard and babbling brook.

We are located 15 min from the Metro North and accessible from I-84 & Taconic Parkway.

I can also travel to your home or office and will travel within 30 miles of Wappingers at no extra free. Extended travel is available upon request.

Do I have to have a mat and props to do private yoga?

The only thing that you need to experience a Dosha Healing is yourself! Mats and props are available for free with group and solo sessions with iHART.

We recommend that you invest in the tools that will support your health and well-being. We do not endorse particular products but we can give you advice on what mats and props are suitable for you.

I'm out of shape and not flexible, are private yoga classes suitable for me?

Yoga is for everyone. Private sessions are the best way for a beginner to learn yoga. From the first session you will get tailored instruction and feel confident to practice at home supported by a recording of our class to reinforce your learning.

Private yoga is an often-missed compliment to public classes.  Take advantage of this opportunity to overcome plateaus, deepen your knowledge and reconnect with your practice.

I've practiced yoga before. Will private classes help me?

Private classes are the ideal way to develop and deepen your existing practice to learn new techniques, renew what is already familiar to you and remain a growing student.

Expand your knowledge beyond only a physical practice.

Explore what it is to be a disciplined Yogi and earn CE Credits where applicable for current instructors and long term practitioners.

I have an injury or disability. Can I still practice yoga?

Yoga is for everyone. We specialise in adapting the Yoga practice to meet your unique needs.

If you have an injury or a disability we will work with you, and with your doctor if necessary, to develop a fun, enjoyable , and healing - Dosha Healing practice that is suitable for you.

You may also choose to work together in more subtle way such as restorative yoga, meditation and crystal reiki sessions as the main Dosha Healing tool.

I am pregnant/recently gave birth – is Yoga safe for me?

Pregnancy is a special time for your body.

We recommend that, unless you have been practicing Yoga regularly for five years, you should seek out a special pregnancy Yoga session with us.

With approval from your doctor we can work together at any stage of your pregnancy to support your overall comfort and preparation for birth.

You can start Yoga practice six months after you have given birth. This gives your body time to heal after the birth.

What does a private yoga session consist of? How long is a yoga class?

Session duration range from 45 min to 90 mins depending on your needs & budget. Sessions can be combined to create longer sessions or request a longer session as needed.

Each session will include hand picked poses that address your physical and emotional needs, where you can move at your own pace and connect to your breath and body in a meaningful way.

I will be completely committed and focused on supporting your practice during our time together, so that you get the most out of your time and effort.

Each session can include Asana (yoga posture),pranayama (breath awareness), meditation, sound healing, and Crystal Reiki (hands on energy healing).

How often should I schedule? Can I do 1 session to try it out?

You are expected to practice yoga

regularly, frequently, and diligently.

It’s recommended to practice daily with our Immersion program requiring 3 to 5 to 7 days of consecutive yoga practice.

However when this is not possible we recommend a minimum 3 - 5 times per week for weight loss, increased flexibility, strength building and stress relief.

To build strength after injury, stretch and strengthen muscles weak from lack of use:  we recommend you set up a minimum of 5 private sessions - with a goal of learning how to modify poses for greater accessibility as well as identifying poses that will strengthen and stretch the injured areas.

You may drop in at our Home classes anytime to try out Dosha Healing Yoga. Private sessions are available one at a time or with discounted packages for returning participants.

**Most Dosha Healing Packages must be redeemed within 6 weeks of purchase.**

For those that are simply in need of a dosha healing check in - we offer a discounted Dosha Healing one time a month package with a three month commitment.

What time of day should I schedule?

Traditionally Yoga is practiced at specific times of the day and night depending on the purpose of the practice.

The best time for a Dosha Healing practice is before the sunrise. Early Bird Yoga group classes and private sessions are recommended for its many benefits to the mind and body.

Dosha Healing Private Sessions can be offered around your schedule. Ideally you are able to maintain consistency with whatever time of day or night you are able to commit to yourself.

What if I don’t have room in my apartment or office?

The amazing this about Dosha Healing is that you do not need any specific equipment or more space than your own body to practice this healing activity. Chair yoga can be very effective for tight spaces. Our yoga classes often explore modifications with various props that are accessible to everyone everywhere. Yoga mats are typically 2ft x 6ft and that’s more than enough room!

What do I need to practice yoga by myself?

Overall, practicing 3 times per week is ideal but remember: a little bit of yoga every day is better than a lot of yoga once or twice per week.

If all you can do is 15 minutes per day, do that. The best guide you have to what you need is to spend at least 5 minutes per day seated in quiet.

Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and notice the affects of your life on your body.

Listen for the intuitive messages that arise and follow those.

All the guidelines in the world won’t replace what you most likely already know.
